VA Welcome Home Vietnam Vets
On March 29, 2016 the Veteran's Administration

hosted a Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans

celebration, for the 50th anniversary of the

Vietnam War, at the VA Medical Center in

White River Junction, Vermont.

The Lebanon Lodge Of Elks 2099 assisted with registering veterans  for this event.  They also supplied and served food to the vets and their families.

Harbor Homes

Harbor Homes has a Veterans FIRST Program:
Harbor Homes believes in the “housing first” model as being the most effective way to eliminate homelessness among all of our vulnerable citizens, including our Veterans.  Without a safe and secure place to call home, the complex reasons for the spiral into homelessness cannot be addressed and remedied.  Harbor Homes designs many of its housing, programs, and services to meet the needs of homeless and low-income veteran households. Known collectively as “Veterans FIRST”, this unique mix of affordable housing, employment, and supportive services are evidence-based and nationally recognized best practices designed to end or prevent homelessness among veterans and their families who live in New Hampshire.

The Lebanon Lodge of Elks 2099 through a grant from the Elks National Foundation purchased and donated new bedroom furniture and mattresses for the Harbor Homes facility in Claremont, NH when it first opened in 2012.  Then in 2015 the Lodge purchased and donated a complete new set of kitchen utensils and outdoor patio furniture.  This was accomplished with the help of another grant from the Elks National Foundation.

Four times a  year the Lebanon Lodge of Elks 2099 cooks, delivers and serves a hot meal to our friends at the Claremont Harbor Homes house.  This is always enjoyed  by the residents, and they are very grateful.  The Elks that participate also enjoy serving, eating and socializing with the residents.

Veterans Holiday Party

For the past several years Lebanon Elks Lodge 2099 has held a Holiday Party for all  Upper Valley veterans and their families, in the ballroom at the Lodge.  150 - 200 veterans and family attend this event. The Lodge serves hor d'oeuvres, dinner and desert.  There is also a cash bar,  and a band  provides music for a evening of dancing and listening pleasure.

NH Veterans Home BBQ

Each  summer Lebanon Lodge 2099 joins with other Elk Lodges from around New Hampshire to provide and serve a BBQ lunch to the residents  of the NH Veterans Home in Tilton, NH.  The Elks bring the food and all the fixings, serve the residents and do all the clean-up.  The  Elks  assist in getting many of the residents who are not capable  of walking from their room to the outdoor pavilion and back.

Holiday Cards

Each year after Thanksgiving Lebanon Elks Lodge 2099  members gather at the Lodge and spend the evening addressing and and signing Christmas/Holiday cards for Veteran's in the New Hampshire Veteran's Home.
