For the past several years Lebanon Elks Lodge 2099 has held a Holiday Party for all Upper Valley veterans and their families, in the ballroom at the Lodge. Almost 200 veterans and family attend this event. The Lodge served hor d'oeuvres, dinner and desert. There was also a cash bar, and "Yvonne And The Reverbs" provided music for a evening of dancing and listening pleasure. The Emblem Club donated many pies for desert.
This year the Lodge sponsored two veterans related organizations, Harbor Homes a Veterans First organization here in New Hampshire. Several of the residents of the Harbor Homes house in Claremont attended the party. For more information on Harbor Homes click here. Also, The "Adopt A Civil War Veteran Project" was sponsored. Fran Hanchett spoke about the project and the "Sons of Civil Ward Veterans" along with WWII veteran, Francis Mutney, presented the colors.
Upper Valley veterans and their families really enjoyed the party this year. The food and the music were great.
The Lodge thanks Nancy Down for cooking the delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu dinner, and all the volunteer Elks and helpers. They really helped make this event a great success.
75 gifts were brought by participants and donated to "Toys For Tots".
Thank you, Upper Valley veterans and families.
